The Performance Lab Basics

The Performance Lab is one of the key pages in the The Vortex where you can follow in-depth training modules, skill tutorials and more. To maximize your experience in the Performance Lab, we will cover how to navigate the page, begin and complete modules, and track your progress.

So, what is it?

To put it simply, the Performance Lab hosts a plethora of regularly-updated training sessions and tutorials which can be watched on your phone, tablet, or computer, anytime, and anywhere.

Each ‘module’, like the Achievers Home Guide (Volume One), contains a series of training sessions that you can complete by reading the instructions and watching the guided walkthrough.

Each session focuses on different areas of training depending on the objective of each module.

To learn more of the general questions our users have asked, check out the FAQs at the bottom of this article.

Choosing a Module and Session

Each month we will be adding more and more modules for you to follow along during your training journey.

Some modules are designed to be short, for example, the Skill Tutorials module gets 1-2 new tutorials every month that are one-off sessions.

That means you are not set to a weekly or monthly plan, you can simply do them whenever, however many times you please.

Modules that are titled ‘Achievers Home Guide’ are designed to be completed over several weeks or months.

In these modules, each session will tell you when to complete them.

For example, Volume One has 8 sessions that are set once per week.

Remember to always the instructions carefully for each session and repeat them for maximum results.

Completing a Module and Session

Once you have read the instructions, watched the guided walkthrough, and have mastered the training session on your own, you can consider the session as complete.

You have a few options to mark a session as complete in our system.

Option One

On the page of the session that you have completed, you will find a button that says ‘Complete and Continue’ at the top and bottom of the page.

If you are in a lesson you have already completed, you will see, ‘Next Lesson’, which redirects you to the next available lesson or module.

(On Mobile) On the page of the session that you have completed, you will find a button that says ‘Complete and Continue’ at the menu bar at the bottom of the screen.

Please note that for this purpose, the floating Navigation Bar has been disabled on lesson pages within the Performance Lab.

Option Two

If you would like to mark a session as completed outside of the lesson page itself, you can do so easily by clicking the dotted circle next to the title of each lesson. You can click on this button again if you wish to undo these actions.

Tracking Your Progress

If you are viewing the Performance Lab for the first time, you will notice there is an empty grey bar at the top of the main page.

This is your ‘Progress Bar’. Your Progress Bar displays the percentage of lessons you have completed, representing the total volume of lessons in the Performance Lab.

As you mark lessons as complete, you will see the value of your Progress Bar increase.

The closer the bar gets to the end, the closer you are to completing all of the lessons within the entire Performance Lab.

Use this metric to motivate you every day or week that you logon to complete your sessions.

As more modules and lessons are added, your Progress Bar will automatically adjust to account for the new, incomplete lessons.

Be sure to check in frequently and stay tuned for content drops to stay on top of your progress.

  • We add new lessons and modules every month, so stay tuned for content drops and updates. Remember, the key to success is consistency and progress. If you have completed all of the lessons and modules, go back to any of the lessons you struggled with and try to master these as best as possible.

  • The skill and difficulty level for each session is unique. Although some might be more difficult or easy for others, everyone can learn something by completing each session with accuracy and precision. Regardless of your skill level, sometimes refreshing the basics are more important than the advanced principles. We plan on adding skill/difficulty level ratings to the session overviews in the future.

  • To keep sessions as accessible as possible, we try to limit the amount of materials required. This keeps preparation time low, and your focus on the session high. Occasionally you will be asked for some some basic equipment in the session instructions, like ladders and cones. However, a ball and your motivation are usually all that you will need! If you don’t have certain equipment, don’t worry, get creative!
